Tom Hanks-2-1024x767Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was born on July 9, 1956. He is an American actor as well as filmmaker and director. Popular for his comedic and dramatic roles, he is one of the most admired and well-known film stars in the world and is widely regarded as an American famous cultural icon. Thomas Jeffrey Hanks was born in Concord, California, to Janet Marylyn a hospital worker, and Amos Mefford Hanks, an traveling cook. His mother, who was originally referred to as "Fraga" was from a Portuguese family. His father, however, was predominantly English. Tom was raised in what he calls a "fractured" family. He had no acting experience in college. This is the reason that helped him get started in his career. He walked into the city, and auditioned for a community production of a theater, and was then requested by the director of that play to go to Cleveland, and there his acting career began.
